The Lots

Your community lifestyle is underpinned by the village's enhanced design.   A vibrant 6ha village centre encompassing a range of businesses, shared facilities and services will be surrounded by 104 lots arranged in 10 clusters.  This allows all homes to be within strolling distance (~500m) of the community centre which can be reached by the extensive car-free pathway network that serves the community.

A range of lots are available to cater for the varied needs of community members, their families and lifestyles:

  • Sizes varying from 450m2 up to 1970m2
  • Choice of environments including; cleared lots, existing bush settings or lots with bush views
  • Direct car access or adjacent car access
  • Single or double storey building permissions
  • Four building envelope sizes ranging from 225m2 to 375m2

House and Land Packages

We have been in discussions with a range of architects, designers and builders who are specialists in the field of sustainable design and construction.  Whilst SomerVille Ecovillage are not offering house-and-land packages per se, we are able to put you in touch with designers and builders who understand how to comply with SomerVille's building standards.

This can provide a convenient way for you to secure a home with a 7-star rated sustainable design within this fast selling community.

Designs already on the drawing-board draw inspiration from the surrounding areas and offer a range of sizes and styles to choose from.

 

 
Building Design and Construction

We have selected distinguished architects, designers and builders to undertake the community and residential projects within the SomerVille Ecovillage. These Perth based companies provide the expertise and skills to develop cutting edge designs that maximise sustainability and cost effective solutions.

  • Econstruct
    Econstruct is a building and project management company that focuses on minimising environmental impacts and maximising modern and traditional technologies to achieve a more comfortable and sustainable living environment. Econstruct has been engaged in evolving the design for the Community Centre.

  • Evoke Design Group
    Evoke Design Group specialises in the design of thermally efficient homes for the Western Australian environment. Five different house designs are available, designed specifically to suit the SomerVille Ecovillage location. The "Terra" (meaning Earth) Series draws inspiration from the surrounding area and offers a range of sizes and styles. Evoke Design Group can also create personalised designs.

  • Paradigm Architects
    Paradigm Architects approach all projects with a strong commitment to appropriate and sustainable design and building practices. Paradigm has designed the SomerVille Ecovillage Community Centre, a cutting edge seven star rated building which is planned for the Ecovillage Centre.

 
SomerVille Ecovillage Land Tours

Land Tours are offered to provide potential residents with the opportunity to view the land at SomerVille. This environmentally sustainable, community-oriented ecovillage is in the natural bush location of Chidlow, just 45 minutes from Perth.
