Enterprise

A core feature of the SomerVille Ecovillage is to minimise economic leakage meaning that facilities and services will be provided by residents, creating meaningful employment for those seeking it, convenience for community members, and ensuring the local economy flourishes.

Business Development

The SomerVille project will provide funds to support the evolution of enterprise. Funds will be invested in community facilities and the establishment of a business incubation unit to help kick-start village based enterprises.

Leading edge technology infrastructure is envisaged to support both village and home based business.

By creating jobs and businesses before people move to SomerVille, transition for people will be simplified. For those not wishing to work, or keen to retain existing employment, the local enterprise system provides convenience of service.
